About Us

Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI) was constituted on 4th February 2016. BOCI aims to promote Safe, Smart and Sustainable Integrated passenger Mobility solutions to the citizens of India in close coordination with all the stake holders from public & private sectors.The significance of BOCI can be measured by the fact that over 15 Lakh buses are operated by its members today on Indian Roads and it is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. The organization will promote, encourage, co-ordinate, safe and secure passenger transport by coach and buses within India and its nearby countries. We will act as interface between thought leaders and enhance efficiency, competitiveness and business opportunities for our members by providing range of specialized services and strategic global linkages. We will provide a platform for consensus building and networking on key issues amongst our members. The organization will bring in all State associations and Unions under one umbrella to achieve better coordination and confidence by establishing a system of Operator accreditation.

Mission Statement

A mission statement is a formal short written statement of the purpose of an organization. The mission statement will guide the actions of the organization, spell out its overall goal, provide a sense of direction, and guide decision-making. It provides “the framework or context” within which the BOCI’s strategies are formulated.
The Mission Statement concentrates on the present; it defines the expectation of the Operators from BOCI and what actions BOCI will take to ensure that these expectations are met.

To increase the share of Public Transport in transportation.
To engage in Policy Advocacy with Central & State Governments to put up right operating regulatory frame work of Permits & Taxation for the development of Citizen Friendly, Safe, Secure & Economically sustainable Public Transport systems
To create level playing field amongst all Passenger Transport operators across India.
To ensure world class Public Transport Infrastructure of the highest standard.
To facilitate the process of integration between and within the various modes & operators of Passenger Transport.
To bring in International best practices in operations and management
To produce and share Knowledge for fostering Innovation in Passenger Transport.
To create platforms for Knowledge transition and Business collaboration amongst all stake holders.
To evangelize the usage of cutting edge technology in all aspects of Passenger Transport.
To actively encourage innovation in designing, developing & providing Passenger transport solutions.
To ensure constant up gradation of Passenger Transport services including Safety, Security, Reliability, Hygiene, and Timeliness.
To foster a conducive ecosystem for sustainable growth of the Passenger Transport operators.

Aims

To bring all the stakeholders from the Bus & Car Operator segment together on a single platform
To be an independent, unified voice that speaks for all the stakeholders of the Bus Operator segment
To liaise with Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Ministry of Urban Development & Ministry of Tourism to ensure development of Passenger Transportation Systems & Infrastructure as required.
To get engaged with various Transport and Tourism Development Corporations at National & State level.
To get engaged with various State Transport Ministries & Departments to assist State transporters association affiliated with BOCI to resolve state level issues.
To get engaged with Ministries of Indian Railways, Shipping and Aviation to achieve target of providing integrated transport services to the citizens of India.
To strive to bring in harmonization of regulatory frameworks with Central & State Governments
To organize an annual Event for Bus operator segment and conduct Workshops & other programs for Knowledge exchange & Business collaboration
To collaborate with International public Transport Federations & bodies
To give annual BOCI Awards to recognize good work & successes of its members in multiple categories
To develop Human resources through Skill development & Up skilling
To educate members on all issues related to Bus operator segment & strive towards their betterment.
To enter in to agreement with Bus & Car manufacturers, Spare parts & Tyre Manufacturers, Oil & Gas producing companies to ensure fair pricing, which will benefit BOCI members.
To collaborate with Technology companies for introducing advance technologies for giving better experience to travelers& to improve operational efficiency.
To engage with financial institutes to evolve better ways of financing of the Assets, Projects & Working capital.
To engage with institutes like IRDA to ensure right innovative ways to insure assets and to get insurance coverage at right Premium price.
To represent transporters at various levels of Judiciary for getting justice and to bring in reforms required for strengthening Public Transport in general & business environment for our members in particular.
To get associated with various National & State level Industrial Bodies, Organizations, Trade unions, Associations, Federations and Confederations to achieve the target of improving share of Public Transport by road.
To work closely with organizations working in the field of transportation including AIMTC, AITWA, ACOGOA & SIMTA.
